Miracles
The song above is called “Miracle”. It is by Tauren Wells. To understand the song more in depth, you just have to listen to it and possibly dance with it. Anyways, last post was about believing still believing. This one is about not letting certain things, certain people, or even ourselves to hinder us, to block us, or even have it pass us, from seeing the miracles that God does.
Ok. So, lately, it’s been a struggle. It’s been a struggle to write or get anything down. It is normal for writers to have writer’s block, but this one was different for me. It was the first time I actually had a fleeting thought of quitting. Like, I wanted to just give up writing everything: My books, my poetry, and even this website. I wanted to just quit. To me, that was huge. Writing has been my life. I would never want to give that up considering it has saved me countless of times and is a passion I thrive for. So, why? Why would I even think of giving up something that is also considered a career for me?
The answer is quite simple: Things got too complicated. Things got too “personal”.
In life, we have this tendency of running away or “giving up” when things get too hard. We have this purpose in our life that is egging us. That is calling us to go to move, yet we are so afraid of the “what ifs”. We are so afraid of what other people think, instead just doing whatever it is that we are called to do. We are so afraid of the potential or impact we may have that we don’t see that our words and actions matters. It matters of what you do or say. It just matters.
So, when ever I need to take the bus somewhere, there’s this guy I see. He is always smiling and laughing. The world around him is just this happy place. The energy is always so vibrant and positive. The thing is though, he is blind. He can’t see the world. He sees through a tunnel of a vision that he could only imagine. He knows his way around and does almost everything that we do. There’s this obstacle in his way this limitation, but yet he lives his life. He may need a little guidance here and there, but he lives. And yes, he probably struggles with his blindness and struggles with battles like us, but he gets through it by smiling, laughing, and enjoying his life.
You see, there can be miracles happening around you that you don’t even know or see. Miracles happening in your life that you don’t even know or see. The battle that you are facing is probably No, is going to be something that will touch somebody’s life someday. You just have to see it, but sometimes we can’t because we are blocking it….letting it pass us by.
So, this random guy on the bus I see, he is legally blind. That is his limit yet he doesn’t just give up. He doesn’t just say “Oh, welp, I’m blind.” The thing is though, we all have this limit that we put on ourselves. Mental health for instance.
Depression and anxiety is a struggle. Some days you are on edge and all you feel is this jitteriness you cannot shake. Some days you feel so low that the fuzziness in your brain is so very hard to decipher and the tiredness is hard to shake. Then, there is the days were you just feel extremely happy, but yet you can’t figure out why you feel so much physical pain in your heart, your mind, or your body. Depression and anxiety isn’t just emotional. It isn’t just mental. It is also physical.
Yet, the thing is, we can’t allow that to stop us every time we want to accomplish something in life. We can’t just say “Oh, welp, I’m depressed”, or “Oh, welp, I have anxiety”. Yes, it’s okay to have depression. It’s okay to have anxiety. It’s okay to have any other mental disorders, or even brain disorders. That is all okay. Talk about it. Share it. We need more of that anyways. The only thing you can’t allow it to do is block you from having your miracle. You can’t have it block you from having your joy, your happiness, and even at most times, the pain.
Life is filled with so much pain and agony, yet it is through that pain, that struggle, that we find ourselves the most in. I am not saying that your mental health is on you because it is not. Mental health is serious. Disorders are serious. The thing I am trying to convey is that we can’t use that as an excuse, or an alibi, every time we feel so overwhelmed that the need to run is calling towards us.
Did you know that every time you run, you are possibly running from something that is a preparing you for the future? Did you know that is also blocking your potential and possibly your miracle?
The thing is, sometimes, in life, we have to stand up for ourselves. Sometimes, in life, we have to face the things we fear the most. It just the way it works. We have to deal with the pain. We have to deal with the loss. We can’t run every time it gets “too hard” or “too complicated”. We have to face it head on and then fight.
You see, God puts us in weird circumstances because that is were our miracles lay the most in. Did you know that? God doesn’t want you to suffer. He doesn’t want you to have the pain, but yet when it is there, He walks with you through it. And when all hope seems to be lost, He is there waiting and watching in your corner. He just wants to go deeper.
So, I really did wanted to give up. I really had the whole plan mapped out. I had written a message preparing for it, but then something happened. I got inspired by a guy on a bus who was doing everything we all do with limitations that should have stopped him, but didn’t. I got inspired by the amount of loss that been around that should have stopped people, but didn’t. I got inspired by how people are still laughing and smiling even though they have a battle going on within them, even though life have possibly dealt them a not-so-great hand that should have stopped them, but didn’t.
You can’t continue to run from the things that scares you in life. You can’t continue to run when things get too complicated or hard. You can’t continue to shield yourself because of limits that you set for yourself, because you can still do it no matter what your limits are. You can still be what God called you to be, or what you dream of. You can still do what you imagined. It doesn’t matter.
If you have a goal…..
If you have a plan…..
If you have a dream…..
Whatever it is, don’t let anything get in the way, block you, or shield you of it and that includes yourself.
That includes you. The biggest and uttermost threat we have is ourselves. We hold ourselves back more than others do. We block of the many things that is going to move us more. That is going to help us grow.
You have to stop blocking your miracles. You can’t allow it to pass you by. It’s there. God is telling you it is there. Now is the time. So, here’s the thing:
I am still writing. I didn’t hold myself back this time. I didn’t run when I could’ve. I didn’t block myself because half time writer’s block is the writer’s fault.
So, the questions are:
What is it that you are running from?
What is it that you are holding yourself back from?
What is the thing you fear the most?
Once you figure that all out, then the rest should follow….
